- Aun / Ah-Un

A demon with two heads that follows Sesshomaru. Rin rides Aun when they are going somewhere.

- Ayame

Female wolf demon that is in love with Kouga. She only exists in the anime.

- Ayumi

Kagome’s classmate and friend. The smartest one in the group, but also the most clueless one.

- Amari Nobunaga

A clumsy young man from the Takeda clan. He has a pet monkey and a crush on princess Tsuyu.

- Bankotsu

The young leader of the Shichinintai. His weapon is a giant halberd.

- Bokuseno

A 2000 year old magnolia from which Tenseiga and Tessaiga’s sheaths were carved.

- Botan

A miko-in-training. She was used by Tsubaki, and she is a close friend to Momiji. She only exists in the anime.

- Buyo / Buuyo

Kagome’s cat.

- Entei

A demon horse. It lets Hakudoushi ride on it's back

- Eri

Kagome’s classmate and friend. She loves gossiping.

- Fake suijin

A water sprite that sealed up the real Suijin and stole her Amakoi halberd. Having the halberd, he could do just about anything and decides he wants sacrifices from the villagers.

- Gatenmaru

A moth demon. He fights with a giant axe. He was the third person to awake InuYasha’s demon form.

- Ginkotsu

A member of the Shichinintai.

- Ginta

Wolf demon. Close friend to Hakkaku and very loyal to Kouga.

- Goshinki

Naraku’s third detachment. A mind reader. He was the first person to awake InuYasha’s demon form.

- Hakkaku

Wolf demon with a funky hair style. He’s a close friend to Ginta, and also very loyal to Kouga

- Hakudoushi

An detachment of Naraku that was created when was split in two. He rides Entei and wields a naginata

- Hatchi

Tanuki demon that follows Miroku. He’s very easily scared. He can transform into just about anything.

- Hiten

Thunder demon that is after the Shikon shards. He has a younger brother, Manten.

- Hiyoshimaru

- Hojo / Houjou

Kagome’s classmate. He has a crush on Kagome and gives her weird gifts.

- InuYasha / Inu Yasha / Inu-Yasha / Inuyasha

Half dog-demon. He was sealed to a tree for fifty years by Kikyo. He has an enchanted necklace that allows Kagome to control him with a word. He has a half-brother, Sesshomaru. He turns into a human at new moon and into a full demon when his life is in danger and he is not holding onto Tessaiga.

- Inu no Taisho

InuYasha’s and Sesshomaru’s father. An old enemy of Ryuukotsusei.

- Izayoi

InuYasha’s mother.

- Jaken / Jyaken

Sesshomaru’s servant. He has a staff with two heads that was used to find Inu no Taisho’s grave, but it can also spit out fire.

- Jakotsu / Jyakotsu

A member of the Shichinintai and also a friend of Bankotsu. He’s gay and has a crush on InuYasha.

- Jinenji

A half demon. Feared and hated by the people in his village. He and his mother has a huge field of medical plants.

- Juromaru / Juuromaru

Naraku’s detachment. Kageromaru was living in his abdomen.

- Kaede

An old miko in the village of the bone eater’s-well. Kikyo’s younger sister.

- Kageromaru

A detachment of Naraku. He was living inside Juuromaru’s abdomen.

- Kagome

15-year old girl who fell into the bone-eater’s well and was transported to the Sen-goku jidai. She had the Shikon no Tama inside her body. She broke the Shikon no Tama with a sacred arrow. She can sense Shikon shards. She is Kikyo’s reincarnation.

- Kagome’s Grandpa / Kagome no ojiisan

Has no other name than “Kagome’s grandpa”. He likes old legends and that kind of stuff. He is the one that comes up with the fake sicknesses for Kagome.

- Kagome’s Mom / Kagome no okaasan

Has no other name than “Kagome’s mom”. And she is Kagome’s mother. She let Kagome borrow her bike.

- Kagura

Naraku’s second detachment. She can control the wind and travels flying on a feather. She hates Naraku.

- Kaijinbo

A sword-smith. He’s Totosai’s former apprentice. He made Tokijin.

- Kanna

Naraku’s first detachment. She has a mirror that can steal souls and deflect attacks. She has no smell or aura. She has no emotions.

- Kikyo / Kikyou

The protectress of the Shikon no Tama. She was killed and then revived 50 years later by Urusae, but her soul was already reincarnated in Kagome. She hates Kagome and Naraku. She both hate and love InuYasha.

- Kirara / Kilala

Sango’s loyal demon friend. She has two forms, kitten and tiger.

- Kohaku

Sango’s little brother. He is kept alive by a Shikon shard in his back. Naraku controls him by this Shikon shard. Naraku also erased his memories.

- Koharu

A girl who loves Miroku.

- Koga / Kouga

A wolf demon. He loves Kagome. He has Shikon shards in his legs and they make him very fast. His tribe was killed by Kagura and he hunts Naraku for vengeance. His wolves killed Rin.

- Koutatsu

A painter that summoned ogres by drawing them in paint made by human liver and blood.

- Kuranosuke

A snotty lord who has a crush on Sango. He only exists in the anime

- Kumo Gashira

The spider demon that killed Nazuna’s dad.

- Kyokotsu

A member of the Shichinintai. He is actually a human; he got his size and looks by eating demons and ogres.

- Manten

Hiten’s younger brother.

- Mayu

A young girl’s ghost.

- Midoriko

The miko who made the Shikon no Tama.

- Miroku

A lecherous Buddhist monk. He is cursed with a mysterious Kazaana, a hole in his hand that can suck anything into it, by Naraku. He loves Sango.

- Mistress centipede / Mukade Jourou

The demon that pulled Kagome through the well. She stole the Shikon no Tama from Kagome but was killed by InuYasha before she could become too strong.

- Momiji

A miko-in-training. She was used by Tsubaki and she is a close friend to Botan. She only exists in the anime

- Mukotsu

A member of the Shichinintai that uses poison.

- Mu-Onna

A nihility demon made from the grief and suffering from women who have lost their families in war. She is controlled by Jaken.

- Mushin / Muushin

The monk who raised Miroku. He is a major drinker.

- Muso / Muusou

A detachment of Naraku. He is another form of Onigumo. Naraku tried to get rid of his human heart and Muso was the result. Muso has no memories and no idea of who he is.

- Myoga / Myouga

A flea demon. He was a servant of Inu no Taisho and when Inu no Taisho died, he started searching for InuYasha, who he now serves.

- Naraku

The villain. He is the source of the suffering of almost everyone in the story. He is a half demon and can decide when in the month he wants to become human. He is made of hundreds of demons and one human, Onigumo. He can create “detachments”, and he holds their hearts so that they have to obey him.

- Nazuna

A girl whose father was killed by spider demons. She hates all demons and everything that’s got something to do with demons.

- Nikozuki no Men

A 300 year old mask–demon who wants the Shikon no Tama to create a body for it.

- Onigumo

A human. When Kikyo found Onigumo, he suffered burns all over his body. She tried to help him. He later sold his soul to the local demons because he wanted Kikyo. When he did that, Naraku was the result.

- Renkotsu

A member of the Shichinintai. He made Ginkotsu. He fights using a canon or spitting out fire after drinking sake.

- Rin

A girl who found Sesshomaru when he was wounded after a fight with InuYasha. She tried to tend his wounds. Soon after that, the village was attacked by Kouga’s wolves and she was killed. Sesshomaru found her dead body and revived her. She now follows Sesshomaru.

- Ryokotsusei / Ryuukotsusei

A dragon. An old enemy of Inu no Taisho.

- Royakan

The guardian of the forest. He can spit out wolves.

- Saimyosho / Saimyoshou

Naraku’s wasps. He uses them mainly to deliver messages. They are very poisonous.

- Sango

A demon slayer. Her family was killed by Naraku and she wants to avenge them. Kohaku is her younger brother and she tries to get him back from Naraku. She is a close friend to Kagome. She loves Miroku.

- Satoru

Mayu's sick younger brother

- Satsuki

A girl who thought she had a Shikon shard and tried to use it to get her brother back.

- Sennin

A holy man who used to live in Tokengyo. Tokajin transferred his soul into a flower.

- Sesshomaru / Sesshomarou

InuYasha’s older half-brother. He is a full dog demon. He has two swords, Tenseiga, and Tokijin. Tokijin is made from Goshinki’s fang. Tenseiga can revive dead people. Sesshomaru hates InuYasha. He is followed by Rin, Jaken and Aun. He hates Naraku for an unknown reason.

- Shibu Karasu

A crow demon who wants the Shikon no Tama

- Shinidama chuu

The demons that collects dead souls for Kikyo.

- Shiori

A half bat demon. She helped InuYasha make the red Tessaiga.

- Shippo / Shippou

A fox demon. His parents were killed by the Thunder Brothers, Hiten and Manten. He can transform into just about anything, just like Hatchi. He uses fox magic, illusions, in fights.
